She was Mens Hoodies selected as the Women of Achievement for American Association of the University of Women and is a past Rotary Ann President. In later years she was an active member of the Alpha Auxiliary of the Methodist Hospital Foundation and a member of the Methodist Hospital Foundation Board for more than 10 years.

Dorothy is enjoying her retirement and having time to catch up with family and longtime friends.

So often we hear of local athletes making the big time, but we rarely hear of local talent doing well in the business or entertainment world. Scott Diener has progressed in both.

Scott was raised in Arcadia, attending Highland Oaks, Foothills Junior High (now Middle School) and graduating in 1980 from Arcadia High School, where he was editor of the school newspaper and starred in the school play.

Scott was recently named vice president and news director of KCBS- TV and KCAL-TV, the CBS-owned duopoly in Los Angeles. He joined the largest local television duopoly in the country after having served as news director at KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV, the CBS-owned duopoly in Dallas-Fort Worth, since August 2007. He joined that CBS family in June 2006 and prior to that he served as the news director in Phoenix, Louisville, San Francisco and Cincinnati.

Over the course of his career, Diener has been honored with the Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University award as well as a George Foster Peabody award. While in Phoenix, he served as the Arizona state coordinator for the Radio and Television News Directors Association and was a member of the First Amendment Coalition Board of Directors.
